Two of my buddies raced tonight and I was kinda suprised by the outcome. My first buddy has a modded LT1 (intake, ignition, electric water pump, 4.10 gears, spec clutch, lt4 hotcam) vs. my other buddy with a stock ls1 (intake, spec clutch). Both times they raced from a 5 roll and both times, the LT1 got the jump and pulled by about a car, but each time the LS1 went by as soon as they hit 3rd. The LS1 pulled steadily ahead after that and got about a length in the end. Good race though :yup:

Sounds about right for an lt1 with minor mods and a mild cam!

Does he have a full exhaust too? If that was a full bolt on Hotcammed LT1, I think that LS1 (if stock) would have gotten beat. Most Hotcammed LT1's put down close to 330hp. I dunno dosen't sound right to be. No bias, I love both cars but somethins up.

Both m6 cars and I rode in the LT1 the second race. He was all over him till 3rd, but the SS driver was probably a bit better.

Oh yeah, and both guys had full exhaust

The 4:10 gears aren't great highway gears.

Yea sad part is there's alot of stock LS1's that will outrun a hot cammed LT1 easily

Hotcam cars aren't that slow, especially the 6-speeds. Sure, the LS1 has the advantage, but don't count out the LT1 ;)

Perhaps the hotcammed LT1 isn't tuned too well, and isn't making max potential power. I would usually bet on a cammed LT1 vs a stock LS1, they almost always seem to put down 320+ rwhp from what I see reading around online. Who knows.
