Depends on how serious of an automatic you want and the kind of HP you have, A stock automatic is no big deal but if you want a real performance street/ Strip unit they will run about $3000. with a high stall 10 inch converter, You can get a serious unit from Yank Racing

A th350/400/PG is easily doable from the M6. If you are trying to go to a 4l60/80e you will need the trans harness, pcm ut of an auto. IMHO I would not go to the 4l60/80 stuff over the TH350/400/PG. Copst wise you could do a TH400 with Gear vendors overdrive unit. Gerat power capability and you get to keep the freeway drivebility for close to the same price as a built 4l60e.

A serious 400 with a 10 inch converter will set yo back $1500 to $1800 the Gear Vender unit is $2400 plus installation which is not a walk in the park, Now you have your power being routed through a biger higher inertia level trans than the 4L60E and going through the GV unit as well. No comparison get your transmission remanufactured By Yank with a 10 inch converter for $3295.00 includes shipping you do not need to buy a computer you already have it and you will be a lot better off. Don,t hack up a nice ride.
