I have been thinking about taking the 20 minutes to do the FRA mod just for the little bit extra. However i've heard that it causes your filter to get dirty alot faster. My Z28 is a DD/weekend track car and gets about 1200+ miles a month on it. Is the FRA a bad idea?

You'll have to clean/replace the filter more...it all depends on you really. 1200 miles a month is pretty average for a DD..I put on more then that and my Z is a DD too.

Its fine, just do the mod. It will get dirty so make sure to check your filter every few weeks. But if you keep the filter clean, you will gain a MPG or two.

I did it on mine when it was a DD. Like they said just check it more regular and keep it clean.

Alright, all good news i did the FRA last night with a dremel (using a metal bit OH THE STINK) and sanded all the cuts, or rather melts to a smooth finish. I noticed an increased snappyness to the throttle, which is the same that i got from the Lid, Filter, Home Depot bellows, TB bypass, and MAF port&polish. With all of these I must have slightly increased the RWHP. I dont believe the 15 hp claims for the lid or the 10 for the filter, but im willing to bet that will all of the above I got around 15-20 hp. Although the seat of the pants feel is really noticeable, its snappy and just feels faster. After i finish the EGR free mod tonight i'll have done every available free mod, and ive already decided that its absolutely worth the total of 3 hours it takes to do lal the above. If your tyhinking of doing them do it all at once that way you dont have to disassemble and re assemble your intake system over and over...like I did

** WOO my gmmg arrives monday at 10 ill be crusing with it on by monday at 11. :yup:
