Online Tire Shopping

I've never purchased tires online before, but now that I have 2000 Corvette wheels tires those size are pretty expensive (to me) and need to save a few bucks. I know that online is the best place to get things cheap and would like to know of any great places you may use. Thank you in advance for your help.

keep in mind some places will balance and mount for free if you buy the tires at their shop. call around and find out what that's going to cost you if you supply your own tires and make sure you tell them what size you'r mounting on. you may save 50 bucks online but end up having to pay it just to get the tires balanced and mounted

Ok, some tire opinions. My front tires are 245/45/17s and it seems I can get decent tires around 100$ each. Kumho 712s are a little less, Nitto 555 a little more. For the rear in 275/40/18 the choice is the same, Kumho MX is about 175 and Nitto 555 is 200 even. I am on a tight budget and these are the only decent tires in my price range, so are Nittos good tires? I would like to hear some opinions.

I run Nittos, but you want the 555r or 555rII, the 555's are sh*t. If you're going with Kumho go with "Kumho ECSTA Supra 712" all the way around, or get nitto 555r or 555rII for the rear to hook up better.

I can't find 712s in the right size for the rear tires. It seems the only nittos I found were the 555 too. I guess I'll get the Kumhos.

would 285/35-18 or 305/35-18's fit your rears? They may have them in that size

285s will fit for sure, but I don't want to lose any tire diameter with the 35s.

I bought Kuhmos from Tire Rack and had them mounted/balanced at a local shop with a lifetime balance/rotation deal. ($9/tire). THe Kuhmos worked GREAT for me.

Keep away from AVON tyres! They are rated higher than Kuhmos on the Tire Rack site, but they suck. I replaced my Kuhmos with them about 5k miles ago, and hate them. Dry Traction is much worse, and the sidewall flex is really bad. These tires completely negated the SLP Level II suspension I installed. I'd hate to see what they are like on an un-modified suspension! You may as well be driving a 1970s Cadilac.

I've been looking on ebay and it looks like a bunch of ripping off. I was about to order Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3s all around but then I broke my rear. I'll probably buy 4 generic tires now just to pass inspection in time for winter storage.

Costco on line store. Got 285/40/17 BFG g force KDWS for $143 each, mount
and balance free, free rotation etc. Discount tire wanted a lot more and they wanted $100 to mount/balance my tires. Costco good!

I have bought from tirerack.com they had good prices and every once in a while they have "specials" and the tires will be a little bit cheaper.
