So I just recently had my headunit PROFESSIONALLY installed at Best Buy and this thing sticks so far out it makes me sick! What can I get to replace this mounting adapter w/ so it sits more flush? There's plenty of room behind the HU to be pushed back, so that's def not the problem.

You can use the Metra 99-3009 (http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=265-715) dash kit. You'll have to remove the mounting tab that supports the back of the factory HU in order to have enough mounting depth for your Pioneer HU.

That kit sez it's only good for Camaro's years '93-'96...

And yet it works just fine in my '99 Trans Am.

The Metra 99-3009 is supposed to be a better fit in the T/A's and the Metra 99-3300 for the Camaro. I can't see what the difference would be, but I just bought the 99-3300 and is what I wanted for my Z28

Just found best mounting kits I've seen for Fbodies at humount.com. They look great!
