ok, well 94-97 have one housing and 98-02 have a different housing, and 93 is a loner and isn't interchangable with any

ok cuz i have a t56 from a 99 but its been a nightmare for me, started off with 3rd grinding at WOT and high rpm, then 5th and eventually 6th, took it to a guy and he didnt fix it all he did was change the synchro rings, i dont know what would be best if i try taking it to an actual shop or just getting a rebuilt or used one, and if i get like a 97 can i change the housing from my 99 if thats even possible, and if not any suggestions on what i should do would be greatly appreaciated

You should stick to a 98-02 tranny. Synchro rings won't fix it at all, you'll need new springs and hub spacers by the sound of it. It is a very simple fix, I've done it once and we had it done once on another guys car, we bought a kit for 350 bucks and pulled the tranny ourself, then a shop did the work for 300 bucks since they didn't have to pull the tranny or supply parts

i know this might be a dumb question but if i was to replace each synchro and perhaps the forks and buy the rebuilt kit should it work like it did when i first got the car

just a full rebuild kit should do that for you

my 97 had 178,000 when I sold it and shifted like a dream, we went through it all at about 170,000. It shifted very well before that anyways though, 2nd wouldn't sync and that was it. Afterwards it was GREAT though
