is this normal?

I just bought my 01' TA last night from a dealer, and it is supposed to have a monsoon sound system ( it says it on the radio too) but it sure doesnt sound like it!Are there common problems with them that I should look for?

The POS Monsoon system is a VERY un-reliable stereo. The mid-woofers are blowing all the time due to the fact that the HU and amp both put out high levels of distortion to get their WAY over rated "500 watts if power" claim. The HU tends do die a slow and drawn out death. People are always having problems with error codes and CD's that won't play and/or eject. The display tends to go whacky after a few years. The volume level can go up and down on it's own and not even respond to the volume control when you try to use it. The best thing you can do is hope it lasts while you save for buying an after-market setup.
