18x9 To Big????

I hope these are not to big for the front of my car, it is lowered with Eibach Sportlines. Anybody know how well this will work? Also what size tires should I think of running?--Tony

275/35/18s would be a good size tire. You shouldn't have any problems, what is the offset of the rims?

Your talking about for the front right? And the offset is 43mm.--Tony

I am talking all four tires. If you had 18x11s You could put 325/30/18 in the rear, but being that the rims are 9 inches you should stick with 275-35s this will keep your speedo about the same. Factory tires are 25.7 inches tall, 275/35s are 25.6 and 285/35s are 25.8 aprx. Factory 17x9 rims have a 55mm offset. This means that with a 43mm offset they will stick out 12mm from stock, thats 1/2 an inch.

So you would not see any rubbing as low as my car is? Like I said it has settled quite a bit, were talkin about a little over 2 1/2 inches. I am not so much worried about the back as I am the front, I know the back is gonna work fine, just not so sure of the front. Not tryin to sound thick headed or anything, just tryin to re-assure myself that this will work.--Tony

actually, stock rims are 50mm offset.
that means that the wheels will be sticking out 7mm from stock.
As mentionned before, 18x9 is not a problem,,, and going with a 275/35-18 tire, you'll have the same overall diameter as stock... so no change there.
There is no issue with the wheel sticking that little more out.
It'll be a plug and play easy task.

So say my dream comes true,, and i end up getting the 18x9 in front and 18x10 out back iforged areos, what offset would i need to run with sportlines i plan on getting the nitto 295/35/18.. drag radials.. i like the look of the camaro on car domain # 314999... he says he has the 2.5 inch dish in front, and 3.5 inch dish in back. i just does not say what his off sets are. and i have not hit my 10th post yet .PLEASE. thanks

your fronts are going to rub unless you go to a 35 ratio tire. i have the sportlines on my car and the tires rubbed with the stock 275/40/17's i went down to a 235 but gave up too much in handling. will be going back to a 265/40/17 this spring. trying to find a 35 ratio i9n the 17 wheel for a stock rim is nearly impossible. you might have better luck though with the 18.

you should be fine with an offset between +45 to +55mm on a 18x10

what is your alignment specs ?
I had a bit of rubbing on sportlines in the front, before I redid my alignment... now, even 17x11 won't rub.

properly mounted, no... you'd need a 10" wheel for that size.
get 18x10" on all 4
