ls1 vs supercharged explorer

How would this race go? Dont know much about the ford, friend of mine says he wants a peice of my car. The guys in high school. Haven't met him yet, my guess is that is all stock except for the supercharger, and he wont let anybody look under the hood, my guess is that its probably rigged up some how. This guy has been talking mad shit about trans ams. somebody tell me, should I race this asshole? I hear were they race is a reasonably long strip of interstate, I know this ford cant reach 165, or can it?

A supercharged Explorer? Why? Probably has 200hp or something, supercharger will probably make like 100hp+ = 300hp+. If you have any Mods you should win. Make sure when you DO beat him that everyone knows. Have the race taped so he can't talk anymore smack. Just my opinion tho.

I've raced a few of them trucks. Beat most but this one stands out. It was massively boosted and some gears and shit, he murdered me by about 2 car lengths in just the 1/8 mile. I respect the lighting that is for sure. Sports car performance, truck hauling capacity.

haha....seems like you wouldnt have posted this unless you were some what uneasy about it.........best advise would be not to race from a dead stop being that most explorers depending on there year had full time 4wd......seeing that you dont...he would probably depending on the set up obviously, with enough hp, take you off the line.

This is funny because I ran into the same situation. There was a highschool kid who had a supercharged Explorer back when I had my Camaro. There used to be a hang-out where everyone would meet and then go street-race (yes I used to do it, and yes I know it's dangerous). My Camaro was a V6 but had everything in the book done to it. He talked so much crap about how he could take me so one night he got the balls to line up next to me. It wasn't even close!! I took him off the line, then slowed up and when he puled up next to me I waved at him and sprayed him to show his crap-takling self just how slow that thing is!

Long story, short....you'll kick his a$$!

Saleen and Ford have little to do with each other. Saleen is an entirely different company. In fact, I think they are allowed to register those vehicles as Saleen, not fords. No Flame intended, just wanting to shed some light.:)

Bro you have nothing to worry abou.. I used to have a 98 explorer sport that was blown and sprayd with everything under the sun done to it and the BEST i cut with a 2dr 4000lb truck was mid 13's... Now granted that is good for a truck espically an explorer but with your car stock you would walk all over him!!! Dont worry about it... Unless he did a 5.0 swap which could easily be done in the 96-00 years but with some SERIOUS work done... GO SMOKE HIS ASS!:drivin:

:lol: yea i kno... saleen released a saleen explorer called the XP8 in the 97-00 years but thats was all...Nothing special it was only in 4dr, some body work done, a shitty eaton supercharger and some graphics...NOTHING to be feared!!

THe saleen explorer wasn't really that fast but I figured it would give a good comparison of an f-body vs. a hopped up explorer. It is a good vehicle though what it lacks in speed it makes up in comfort. Here is a picture of what it looks like.:slash:
