DIY repair of flaking polished WS6 wheels?

On one of my 17" WS6 wheels, the clear coat is flaking off in several spots. The spots where the clear coat is flaked off look dull. Is there a DIY way to reapir this problem? Some glitz and a can of clearcoat from the autoparts store maybe?

I have the exact same problem. I did some work on one of my rims yesterday. Here's what i did.

I wetsanded it first and buffed it with Brasso. It took a good solid hour of buffing and it still needs just a little bit of work. It looks tons better. But it was alot of work just for the small area.

Are you going to put some clear coat on the wheel? Seems like it will just get dull again without it. Let me know how it ends up.
