Hey, I have a 12 bolt 373 rear end out of a 79/80 Trans Am. Will it fit into a 2000 Trans Am? I have a very good machinist and fabricator. Is there any chance it can be modified to fit? Or is it a lost cause or just not practical enough to even attempt? Thanks...

You'll have to fab something for the torque arm....I don't know if the 12 bolt and 10 bolt are the same lenght, so that could be a problem.

GM never put a 12 bolt in 79/80 T/A.....But if the width is good on whatever rear end it is then it's all about cutting off leaf spring pearches & welding on coil spring mount, lower control arm mount & fabing a torque arm mount........not sure if the brake backing plate
will work or not but the 80 model turbo T/A had rear disk so you could look around for that setup.

Okay, thanks. I'm gonna give it a try with the rear end I have already. Or at least take a look and see if it'd b worth the trouble. Cause $2300 is a lot 2 spend 4 a moser. If that looks like a dead end, then I will look around 4 one with Rear disks. If not, then I guess I need 2 start taking up donations. Lol

Not sure how you would swap over the exciter rings and whatnot if you want to keep traction control and ABS. It wouldn't break my heart to lose that stuff, but some people like having it.
