I have an 02 Firehawk LS1. The exhaust system is all new except the exhaust manifolds which have been ported out for more flow. What headers still make a big difference?? What do you reccomend to keep it street legal in So CAL that will fit on the car and not scrape the ground. I already seem to scrap something all the time on driveway entrances and speed bumps. I think it may be the tunnel brace that's scraping. what a hideous sound that is.

no lt headers will pass a legit smog check in cali...maybe some shorties

I thought there were a few street legal (calif.) headers out there somewhere, either long tube or shorties?? I think someone a long time ago told me that the long tube headers were just too low and hit things on the ground (speed bumps etc.)

shorties aren't really worth it...but they should be legal in cali...anything that moves the cats is illegal, all lt headers do that. Shorties probably wouldn't be better than your ported stock ones.
