Wish I had the Trans Am last night...

Coming home from work last night, I had two crotch rockets pull up on either side of my 2000 GTP. I floored it, S/C went supersonic, and I almost stuck with them from 80 to 145. They really didn't get away from me too quickly (maybe pulled 2 cars on me), but if I had had Nymhpadora, they would have been soooooooo far behind me they would have been so shamed they would have had to trade their bikes in for smart cars :lol:

Correct, a bone stock 600cc newer sport bike is a mid 10 to low 11 second bike with a decent rider and traps 130mph. I went a 11.4 @ 127mph on my 01 f4i and i know that my 600rr is faster just havent taken it to the track. A pro driver Ricky Gadson got a stock r6 and 600rr to hit 9.9s with just the front end strapped down. But i have never seen another stock 600cc hit 9s but they can do 10s all day.

He must not have down shifted lol, seriously though 0-100mph time on a 600cc is 5.8-6.5 seconds, 0-100mph time on a 1000cc sportbike is low 5 seconds as first gear goes to 110mph. These are of course good riders but still a sport bike can do 0-100mph in the time a f-body does 0-60mph, thats a pretty big gap. I did a roll race the other day againt my girlfriends cousins 92 5.0 turbo, he was using his straight 93 octane tune which is 500whp at 10psi. His best trap speed is 129mph and that was a damn close race i had maybe a car at 130ish. He still cant get it to hook otherwise we would have raced from a dig but his best 60ft time is a 2.3 with M/T drag radials.

Even a small 600cc sport bike is a 10-11 second ride depending on the rider. You are going to need at least a heads/cam LS1 setup and trap in the high 120mph range to even come close to a 600cc sport bike with a good rider. I've seen them go 10s at the track with nothing but a slip-on and a good rider.

In your defense, I don't know what's done to your GTP or F-body so it is possible.

My R6 will smoke my camaro all day long. But I think the car is more fun to drive..and safer. After been on the track with the bike and car, it seems so stupid to wrap up to 140 on the street anymore. I have rode with a few guys that ride their bikes like that, someday they will crash.

To the OP with a cam/head f-body with a 150 shot should be trapping 130s, so with your spray you might beat a good rider but without it you would get pulled for sure.

Most likely shitty riders. A bad rider can really make a rocket seem slow. I raced my friends 04 350z the day after i got my first f4i and only won by like 2 or 3 cars. That was the same f4i that i ran an 11.4 at 127mph with after i was riding for a while. It had the mph to go 10s but i couldn't launch it that hard without letting off from fear of the too tall wheelie lol. The pro rider who got 2 600s to go 9.9 was launching at 13krpms and never backed the throttle down, can't imagine how i would pull that off with a stock length swing arm

There must be some shitty riders where you guys live because in my TA I have barely outran a few R6's and 750's. Most of those racs were when I was a six speed too... I have only raced one bike since the swap to TH-400 and it was an R1. I stayed with him from 60 mph until I ran out of gear at 137mph. Then he was gone!

I would use trap speed as more of base to start with, lets just say a full bolt on 1000cc sportbike can trap 140-145mph and a full bolt on zx14 or busa can trap 150+mph and put down 190whp. Once again of course these are good riders. So how ever much power it takes your car to trap those speeds is what you would need.

It is a no-brainer man. The power to wieght ratio is too drastic for most street cars to overcome. Shitty riders constitutes 90% of every bike kill IMO!

True, I love bikes, I have owned 3 cbrs. But one thing I cant stand is those guys who butt into any car conversation and say oh yea well how about I go get my rocket and then you can see what fast is. I really like to lay into to those A-holes and let them know how F-ing stupid they are. You cant compare cars to bikes, it takes alot of work and love to make a car fast and as much as I love riding and the speed of my bikes I wont put down someones quick car because my bike might be faster.

You'll need to trap 140+mph to run one down. If you're Fbody is doing that, it can probably run in the 9s. The only street cars I usually see running these guys down are big turbo Supras, crazy worked F/I Vettes, or worked exotics.... and maybe a small handful of ronin domestics and imports with some ridiculous setup.

I'm looking for my time slip from last year on my bike. I trapped 143 I believe, this was with a modest launch. 60 ft. was around 2.0. This is on my 08 GSXR1000, full yoshi exhaust and a K&N filter. Its downright silly fast. There were Busas & ZX-14's trapping 150+.

First of all, most tracks don't allow bikes and cars to run on opposing lanes for safety reasons.

Second, he really wouldn't have to launch it to beat you. He could just roll out and win. These bikes can put out 115-118mph in the 1/8 mile stock. A 140+mph trap is not uncommon.

I've lost to Hayabusas too, and my car was trapping 140mph on high boost, granted I had traction problems on the street. Even with boost by gear to negate some of the traction issues, I still got pulled by relatively stock Hayabusas.

An R1 is a 1000cc bike. You won't stand a chance.

Well if you wanna make the drive to WI there is atleast 1 600rr that will race you.:devil: I too would like to see how a cam/head+nos f-body would do against a 600cc bike. 1000cc well they can trap 140+ so i think you would need more to take those but a 600cc is in your sight.

I don't stand a chance running against someone who knows how to ride their bike, especially a 1000cc size bike.

But to say you stand a chance against a GSXR1000 is nothing more then a wet dream unless you have some serious mods, a great driver, and drag slicks wider then grandmas ass. So if its an "everyday" driver T/A, I'd say your going to be spending some serious money to live that dream.

Yeah, I'm in the 450rwhp range (no proof yet) with my H/C/I and with the 150 shot, I'll be close if not over the 600rwhp mark on the spray.

I think 600cc bikes are not going to be a challenge, but I admit that a 1000cc would probably destroy me.

Can you be more specific? What size cam and head profile? A well done heads/cam + nitrous F-body can trap 130mph. However, with that type of power (around 600whp minimum), you'll need to work on getting that power down.

Trick Flow heads and custom ground cam. Forged internals. I could run better with slicks, I was running Cooper ZXS street tires and had no intentions of racing on the strip. I just want something to stir up the local Corvette crowd.
