What Can I Use For Engine Bay??

I have this greasy residue all over my engine bay. I'm not sure if the greasy residue is engine cleaner that dealerships use to make your engine look new or if the previous owner spilled oil all over the engine bay. It comes off only by scratching it off with your fingernail. It would take me weeks to scratch all of it off with my fingernail, he he he!!! Is there any products out there that can break this stuff down where I can just wipe it off without damaging the finish?? Any help would be MUCH appreciated!!!! Thanks.:Ohno:

I would use simple green in a 50/50 mix with h2o

Or try some degreaser and power hose it off just be VERY carful when doing this.

Be very very:nono: careful when spraying anything on your engine, especially with electrical that is exposed. Cover all electrical components with plastic or some type of cover. Then go ahead and spray down the engine bay, i like gunk, or engine brite. Both are sold at pep boys or local auto shops.

I just had my Fiero GT in World of Wheels here in Atlanta, and I cleaned my engine bay before the show. I used some Engine Degreaser (any will due, they're all meant to go through grease. Then I used CD2 engine detailer, I'm not sure if you want to go that far, but it makes it look purdy :D. Beware, I got some on my exhaust manifolds, I burned it all off though. Also, be very careful with the degreaser, I wasn't and now my temp gauge sensor doesn't work. Gotta replace it....
