ive been thinking about getting a stall for a while now. ive finally got the funds to buy one, but ive been a little hesitant due to my stock trans a nd rearend.

the car ( 01 z28 4a) is not my dd, i dont take it to the track, but i do race ever so often. car has 76k on it. my current mods are : lt's, ported tb, lid, ory, nitto 555rs.

i dont have the funds to upgrade my trans or rear end..well i guess what im asking is ..if you guys who have similar mods to mine, how long did the your trans last?? rearend?

im going with a yank3600ss, also what fan should i buy to keep my trans cool?? will a diff. pan help???

if need be i will also take my nitto 555rs off and put a diff tire on ..

that stall will really wake up your car. Dont forget though you will want to have enough money to have it tuned. Shift points will prob need adjusted as well as deleting some codes that will throw CELs when driving around town.
Definitely add a tranny cooler and dont get rid of the 555rs cause you will need them for traction.

Most people who break the rears are doing 3 to 5 thousand rpm drops on a M6 with stickies. An auto does not shock the drive train as bad as an M6 makeing a launch. That doesn't mean you cant break it but with stock HP you would have to abuse it. Do the stall but you will need to have the PCM tuned for the stall as well as a trans cooler. the trans cooler is a must because the heat that is caused by the higher stalls kills the trans before the rear, and be smart about it. Most people like the B&M coolers. Get the biggest you can fit to your app. and remember to leave room if you want to add an engine Oil cooler.

It's never a set time when something will break, some go 11's and the rear holds fine some break it stock-it sucks. If you know you have taken care of the car and have changed the rearend fluid to see if everything is tight and no significant wear marks it should be fine. The tranny some are running 4000 and ok, you should get a deeper pan and a thermostat so you can see how hot she gets. You notice how people say you should alot:lol:?

I have a FTI 4000 with a deep pan that holds 2-3 more quarts than stock I don't think its necesary and I dont know how much it helps with cooling, a 30,000 GVW Hayden cooler while cruising my temp gauge stays at 150 and will raise to about 170-175 if the car sits still for while. I would recommend nothing smaller than 24,000 GVM for a cooler the plate styles are the best they are more efficient than the tube fined ones but you should be fine you will love it stalls really wake a4's up .
