I am building a 408 and just wondering what oil pump I should use?
What kind of oil pressure should I expect? I shouldn't be spinning any more than 6500 rpm.
Thanks:)

I am building up my 350 LS1 this winter, and everyone I talked to said to go with the LS6 oil pump from Thunder Racing. They say that they run that in their 427's so that would be fine with your 408 I would think. The pump from Thunder, from what I understand, is basically a glorified LS1 pump that has been ported and has a spacer in the regulator to run the pump at a higher psi. Hope this helps.

I bought mine from Lingenfelter...like $90 bucks...what are you doing to your fuel system?

I've already got an inline Holley that puts out 255 lph. That worked well with the nitrous 5.7L that I had in it. That motor is out and in a jillion pieces in my garage right now. My 408 is supposed to be finished next week.
I just bought some 42# SVO injectors also.

The GTO fuel system sucks donkey balls...we have a little bucket that the FP sucks dry like quick....I have the Kenne Bell BaP....but am thinking of a Walbro and the bucket mod the f-body guys have been doing.....as far as I can see that would work...just dont let your gas tank go below a 1/4.....did you modify (drill) your fuel bucket?

I got a VRE LS6 pump from Byunspeed.com.
Thing has a TON of pressure even at idle. Great pump.
