A4 mileage

What is the average life of an easy run 4L60E. I hear anywhere from 100K for beaten ones up to 150k for non abused trannys. 125K would be nice.

hahahahahahaha, i got 7,000 out of just rebuilt.

and got 80,000 out of the first one.

mine made it to 55,000 then lost 3rd and 4th.

My 95 only went 58K but I thought the 4L60E was supposed to be good. My work truck is a 98 Z71 with 167K on the 4L60E and it is also still goin good. I guess i have to hope for the best.

I have 83k on mine right now...1st-2nd is getting a lil sketchy but other then that....

i just turned over 215,000 but the tranny is in severe need of a rebuild. lots of grinding noise when i apply any amount of power to the tires. i drive it like an old lady till i can get time to rebuild myself. i would say i got a good 200k out of it before i started feeling problems. i have never beat this car.:)

I have 110,000 on mine. Have replaced the 10 bolt with a Moser. I change the tranny fluid every 15,000 miles. Still hanging in there, but shifts take longer. Thinking about getting a TCI Super Street Fighter transmiision from Summit, even though they are expensive. I have always had good success with their products.

i got my car with 143000 on it and the tranny was fine until i got it. the tranny died at 156 and then the new one died 1050 miles later and the next one is just at 3800 miles and is good so far but it has been babied. so i think that the 4L60E's suck for performance and they're no good for horsepower or hard abuse. they make good granny trannies though. they work fine till you get rough with it. i think i'm going to six-speed.:drivin:
