If a car is a Z28 with the SS package ordered is it SS or A Z28? There is a car on the chevy lot that looks like a SS and is advertised as an SS, but the chevy salesman said if you punch in the vin # it will come up as a Z28.

It's a Z28 with the SS package.. all of them are z28's, some are z28 ss's..

You should be able to figure out if it is real very easy.. by a door sticker, or someting like that..

If you can't, look at the option codes, You will see WU8 if it's genuine, and if the car has any SLP installed options you will see Y2Y.

p.s. It will come up as a z28 with the vin number... Have to check the option codes. :D

As someone else pointed out in a different thread- www.lonestarthunder.com/rpo.php will tell you what the rpo codes stand for-located in a sticker on the drivers door-"Z-28" is an rpo code for example, that's where the name came from.

It could be a Z28 that someone put an SS hood on.

the wings are different on the ss camaro opposed to a z28 without the ss pack.
