My oil consumpion is high enough that I'm considering a rebuild. I want to do heads/cam now so it seems like a good time to do it. I've considered a few options like rebuilding my short block w/forged pistons or maybe a stock rebuilt short block from an engine supplier. I don't want to spend more than $2000 on the short block. Any opinions...

Good luck :dunno:
Thats a high performance engine, it comes with a high performance price. This is without question an area where you don't want to cut corners ya know? And you pay for what you get too, unless you get a hookup from a buddy, so be prepared to shell out the cash bro. If you do a complete rebuild, the parts alone are gonne be pretty costly. One thing that can save you a bunch of $$$ is if you are able to pull the engine yourself. I had my engine rebuilt last year and when I was calling around some places were anywhere from $500-$800 bucks cheaper if I pulled the engine myself. This is in San Diego, so its likely cheaper elsewhere, but its just FYI.
