I read somewhere that jet hot headers are hooker headers but with the jet hot coating.

Better coating as in it looks better for longer? or does it keep engine temps down better?

Yea, Jet Hot coating is increadible at keeping the heat inside the headers and the outside much cooler. I have FLP with Jet Hot coating and after driving home from work I can touch the headers after 15 minutes. Granted not hold them but they will not melt your skin to them! I think one of the previous was correct also in saying that they are Hooker headers coated by Jet Hot.

The jet hot coating is of a better quality.

so they make more hp then the pacesetter headers?

Where would one buy a set of Jet hot LT's?

a few guys i know analyzed the underhoop temp with and without coated headers, the temp difference is 8-10 degrees. not really worth the prrice for such a small temp. drop, and i guess they keep it from rusting so i guess that part is good, but i aint worried about it. i got black flowtech longtubes and ORY, ill let u know how long it takes for them to rust

because hookers cost more than pacesetters to start with.

So jet hot headers are just hooker headers?

Jet Hot/Hookers: The Hooker and Jet Hot long tubes are of the same design. Jet Hot took the Hooker design and improved upon it a bit by moving the O2 bungs to the inside of the headers, plus they use a thicker tubing and have thicker flanges. Both are great long tubes and will run you $500-600.

The above is the exact wording from ls1sounds.com on the header and cut out page. You can find this info at the bottom of the page.

the coating will flake off no matter what brand you get.

Do any of our sponsors carry them?

I hate to sound like an asshole....
But you get what you pay for. At least in my experience.

The JetHots tend to have a better coating than the Pacesetters.
But the Pacesetters seem to be selling VERY well recently. Good fit and finish.

Personally...I ate the price and went with Kooks stainless.
Worth it in my opinion.

better coating, i dont know about that. people in the past have posted how their jot hots have flaked up.
my pacesetters are over a year old and no flaking yet.
even if it does flake off, big deal. its not like the headers wont work anymore.
surface rust doesnt bother me on headers.
surface rust may not look as bling bling as stainless, but with the money i saved using pacesetters, i got a cam kit.

I don't know by personal experience.
Just what I have read.

But I do agree....as long as the headers work.
