I am ready to put 3.73s in the camaro.. I was looking around and an SLP ring and pinion is about $240 and the installation kit for it is $118. Is there anything cheaper but still good?

i got summits as i already pmed you, which where 150 plus install kit plus 75/90. if you do alot of highway driving like i do you might want to rethink the 3.73s. the 3.42s are great and a good all around gear. if i didnt do so much highway i would have got 3.73s. but you will need a tune cuz your speedometer will be off.

thanks mnz28.. yeah i just ordered the summits. I don't do much highway driving so I stuck with getting the 3.73s. thanks for your input!!

Where the hell is Amery Wisconsin. I live in Evansville, its right smack in the middle of Janesville/Madison.

Amery is in northwestern wisconsin, its about an hour and 10 minutes northeast of Eau Claire...more east than north though.. its about a half hour from the wisconsin/minnesota border. I've been to Janesville, and Madison, but I don't ever recall being in Evansville..

Did you already do a converter??

I haven't done a converter yet... I have Pacesetter longtubes and ORY sitting in my basement waiting to get put in, and the gears should come this week. I would like to get a converter but if i got that I would also probably need to get new tires due to tire spin.. and thats too much money for me right now.. maybe next summer..

I have a 3.73 w/o converter and it is worth it.
Mileage is good too, 21-23mpg average, 26.6mpg best. (A4)

I'm gonna do a 224 cam also w/o converter.

I still think a converter first, then gears. Highway mileage won't change at all.
