I know its a better low end gear ratio but at what MPH does it start to die down?

I don't have a problem with mine...I love dropping it into 3rd on the highway and redlining almost instantly

Besides climbing faster, I didn't notice any difference in the between my 3.42s and my 4.10s. What I mean is that it pulls the same no matter what speed I'm at.

they all start to loose power at red line on the tach. thats why it there. the motor will make power all the way up to red no matter what the gearing, it just may get there sooner

Just on the dyno over the taller gears.

Your ? is WAY too vague!! No one can truly answer your ?. . . . . . . . . . . . :true:
There are way too many variances. Tire height, tune, driver, etc.
Figure out what the max rpm you want.
Then the tire dia. you'll be running and do some figuring with a gear calculator.
Here is a few links for you.

The car does not die out at all just because you have 4.10's meaning power wise or going at any certain MPH. Your car will pull harder at 90mph with 4.10's then it would with 3.42's because your engine spins up quicker and stays up in your peak power longer. The only thing you might give up a little on is top speed but i havent been able to nor gonna try and see what my top speed is either way. You will most likely see lower numbers on the dyno but it does not make your car any slower even with the lower numbers showing on the dyno your car is quicker and faster then before.

^^ Perfectly Put!
4.10 gears do not "lose" power. Top speed yes, but who cares about that.

Thanks Cayenne97, i agree on the top speed i dont think ive been over 125MPH in years and even with 4.10's shouldnt be any issues still hitting 150MPH quicker then you would with 3.42's.

Allow me to recommend NOT using 5th or 6th gear at WOT....

I've topped 160 (GPS) with my 4.10s...granted I was close redline in 5th longer than I would have liked to have been, but it was exhilarating either way.
