So the new job starts Monday and it seems a safe place to ride out the ummmm ... Economic Change ... that the country is going through. The place is the IRS of the power industry. It's a non-profit set up to monitor the utility companies compliance to federal regulations dealing with the power grid. And the best thing is that it's federally mandated so the utility companies have to pay for it to monitor themselves and it doesn't have to make a profit.

I took it over a job in West Palm Beach. Probably will keep looking for the right opportunity down there especially when the economy starts looking better. Too many risks involved with that right now.

I really don't forsee a big hit in the IT field.. but i am far from an economic, job expert LOL. The government has been good to me. Shit gets bad for everyone else... and gets good for us.
I would go back to CA in a heartbeat.. if I had the chance

Actually although there are a lot of IT jobs the $$$ being offered is down quite a bit right now unless someone is looking for a really specific talent that isn't that common. Plus most employers are looking for mid level experience not senior level like me as a way of keeping cost down.
I can afford to be a little more selective now though.

So, you passed on the Florida gig, I take it.
That's cool. Warm winters are nice, but no one needs cockroaches that have to be put on a leash.
