hi, im new to the board. i have a 2002 ss with all slp options. i went to the track and managed a 8.24 at 87mph in the 1/8. i was happy for it been stock for slp basically. my question is, the cars an automatic and i am putting a nitrous shot on it between 100-150hp. what should be done to the car. i might run some ET Streets for the track. can the tranny take this? what can be done. im going to run the nitrous at the track 1 or 2 twice tops at the track a month. What should i expect to drop in times, traction permitting. also will i roast my tranny? anyone else run this setup? thanks

as long as you get all the safteys. window switch, fps, wot, and upgrade your fuel pump youll be fine if you use it right

I would put a stall in before nitrous....you will get a bigger impact on your ET with a stall than a 100 shot...put em together and now you got something:) A trannies biggest cause of failure is heat.....a trannie cooler is cheap to buy and very easy to install......I would seriously consider a 3200-3500 stall and a trnnie cooler before I went with nitrous...with that said....install nitrous....lower your plugs one heat range...never run platinum plugs with nitrous.....go get em son...

In the 8th with a 100 shot, what does that gain you ? .2 to .3 ?

Probably...a stall will gain about the same...

I would definitley put a window switch to keep you from hitting the rev limiter.

The heat generated by combusting nitrous can cause platinum to meltdown, which will result in some serious engine damage. Always use a colder plug with nitrous.

1/8th mile is gay - why waste your money on a nitrous setup on an ls1 - just get a 1/8mile car like a 5.0 Mustang or a AWD Eagle Talon TSi
