I believe the stall speed for the 4l60E in a 01 Camaro Z-28 is 1700. I've heard from several people if you go higher than 2500 Stall, you're car will feel like it's slipping. Also a Trans. cooler should always be installed.

Above is incorrect. I have a 3000 stall and it doesnt feel much different than a stocker

Probably a TCI converter then :ughlaugh: Those things are notoriously tight.

LOL, not a bad guess eh?? I have ran a few TCI converters and a transmission as well in the past. Had a bad experience with the trans I won't get into,,,and the converters always seemed a little too tight for what I wanted to do. Came to find out I wasn't the only one. So I steer away from TCI now. Converters aren't terrible though if you can get away with a tight one.
Probably works well with your combo since you have a cam with minimal duration and the lobes are spread out to 114,,,that really helps to smooth things out a bit and tames the converter requirement down considerably.
My wifes car has slightly less duration than yours,,but the lobe sep is tightened to 112,,although a 6 speed,,,I could get away with a stock stall with this cam if I wanted to,,,I have it tuned now to the point where it sounds like a stocker,,,baby smooth. Sorry to get off subject, just interesting stuff to me.
