ok so in a4 in first my car is gettin up to like 4000-4500 rpm then shiftin out of 1st .... it was driving fine earlier and i aint leaking a thing.... it is especially cold tonight. any help on what it is??

The cold probably isn't helping if you don't let it warm up a bit 1st. Have you checked the fluid level? When was the last time the tranny was serviced. Also how many miles on the tranny? Nothing lasts forever.

You also might need to have the tranny tuned. Torque management, line pressure and shift points (and quite a bit more) are all adjustable with the use of a higher level program (LS1Edit, HPTuners. TunerCat, etc).

wells it dark ill check all of it in the morning.... but its the stock tranny and it has 67xxx on it.... it was serviced like 10000-15000 miles ago. and yeah ill take my programmer and check it all out because i havent touched it lately

Mine does this when it's cold... But nowhere near to that extent... I think it MIGHT get up to like 1000 RPM... I usually just let the engine push me along while it's warming up IF I HAVE to drive it while it's cold... Always a good idea to let your car run for at least a minute before driving... To pass the time check your tires... They could lose some air in the cold weather.

If im driving cold it goes up an extra 500-700 rpms when shifting, but never nearly that high, i might hit 3k under normal driving.
