Man, these things are my nemesis. Or sort of. He had a 2005 M6 with a catback, except he wasn't running tips or muffler so it was loud. First run, from 20, he got the jump on me and held it, losing a nudge during shifts and pulling to make it up each gear. Went up to about 100. On our second run I took off a little early and he gave up, unable to pull me in. I felt like I did pretty well because the !muffler is a weight reduction and the guy driving was tiny, maybe against a stock one with a regular size guy driving I might have prevailed. Here's hopin for 12's with my new DR's.
Oh, speaking of them. When I decided to test them out earlier I happened to be lined up next to a bike. He launched after me and caught up rather slowly, since he was on a bike and then to about 90 he got about a car ahead of me. All in all, I feel like my bird is running very well right now.

LS2 GTO vs T/A stock for stock is a driver's race. Good run

!MAF, lid, cutout, tune. I feel like it certainly runs better than it was when it laid down the 13.2 about a year ago. He had the exhaust stuff so I'd probably put him in the mid-high 12's and he got one and I got one, the only difference between us on each run was reaction time. He was pulling a little on top and I was pulling down low. Hopefully I'm in the mid-high 12's next time out - which might be tomorrow if I can figure out if the strip is still open.

With equal drivers an LS2 Goat should have the advantage.

Your car Seriously needs headers! and an LS6 intake... I hate it when bikes win!

I always think my car is fast until I go to the track and I see numbers then my mind starts racing on how to go faster and then it just feels slow until I make it go faster. Its a vicious cycle lol....

well in defense of most cars out there. yes bikes are fast as hell in many cases. the ones from about 02 and up but older aren't THAT fast. not to mention the biker has to know how to drive too.
Mean that you'd put the stomp on a bike but not let him walk on you bad is a whole other story...
All i need is time and money :)

any modern 600 with fuel injection is goin to be a handfull, yes you can beat them, but only if you have a lot of money to burn lol

Seriously guys I have seen stock GTO's run 13.2-13.3 @ 108-109mph all night with my own two. If you look at it from a horsepower per weight perspective, they are capable of doing that. And not on a "Evan Smith case basis " if you know what I mean. I'm here at Sea Level so that might be the difference from what some of you guys ran stock. I hate to bring magazines into it but even M/T got 13.2 @ 109 in a bone-stock 6.0. Should be enough to take a stock LS1 Z or Bird w/ a good driver.

Are you sure?
Since the mid 90s the top 600s have been under 12 seconds in the 1/2 mile without a problem. Granted its HARD to run a bike to its full potential but a halfway decent rider will smoke a car 99% of the time. Unless said car is built up pretty stout. Bikes run in to a wall though after 120 or so because the bike is basically pushing the air where as a car cuts through it.
You can beat a bike but most of the time its a squid riding it or your car is one mean mother flipper.....lol
However the newer 1000s have enough power to hit 180mph from a dead stop in UNDER 18 seconds......hell thats faster than most rice burners do the 1/4 mile!

I just got my GTO and I love it. It is WAY more comfortable than the bird. I still wouldnt trade my WS-6 for anything though.

amen to that, there is just something about the smooth sexy lines, and that strong visceral feel of power they give you.

went to the track, hit a 13.02 @ 106 with a 2.05 sec 60' time... even with the DR's... rofl. So running even with that goat was about right it sounds like. If he could launch that thing he'd of had me by a few tenths at the track. But if I could launch it would only be 1-2.

Good run. I just recently went, ran 12.1-3 consistently tranpping 111-113 (WS6) I need suspension though. I ran an 11.92 when it was 40 degrees out

10.02@127mph was my best on my old race preped carbed 96 gsxr 750......it was a hell of a handfull. at 130lbs it took all of me hanging over the frontend to keep it on two wheels......1980 ford fairmont ruined all my fun, totalled the bike and my left knee.
one day I dream of getting my goat to be that fast

I'm very sorry to hear about that, the biggest reason I don't have a motorcycle, I wrecked a dirt bike pretty good. and some jack ass in a camaro spun out in front of me .... with his pregnant girlfriend in the car and drinking a beer......

yeah there are a-holes everywhere that seem to be out to get you when you jump on a bike.
good thing is I got a 3 month vacation, then got a new job (the job I still have) that gets me back home every day and pays more, plus my screwed up hours let me meet the woman I plan on spending the rest of my life with :)
so I still ride and still have one good knee lol

I decided that riding wasn't worth the risk, sold the bike saved some money and bought my trans am. I still miss my bike at times. but i greatly enjoy the trans am.
sounds like your wreck turned out to be not as bad as many I've seen. Where are more pics of the GTO just the hood pick looks bad assed

There are idiots everywhere on the road. That is why I am scared to get a bike... I have seen some nasty crashes at work too.

hah ironic-first "fast" car I ever drove was an '02 WS6 at a dealer, going on a fake test drive. I've always wanted a 'bird and have been looking over and over, every few months and end up buying a GTO. I really like the look of a clean black WS6 with the sport appearance package....or whatever one gave them the double-dual tips stock. siiick

They both seem to be stock, the GTO pulls a bit at top.

I've owned several F-bodys and an 05 GTO. Looking back at time slips the 1/8 was a very slight edge to the GTO in most races, but the GTO would trap about 1-2 mph higher. The 1/4 was a different story, my GTO would consistantly run 13.1's at 109. I really don't have many stock F- bady passes to look at, but with just a lid or a lid and a catback, the F-body was about 2-4 tenths slower and 2-3 mph slower.
The best I ever did with my GTO was 12.895 at 109. My latest 02 Z28 has a best of 12.79 at 108.47. I have a lid, FRAM, Magnaflow cat-back, Diablosport Predator tune and DR's.
